The Highland Connection - A Blog for 2020

Kyle of Lochalsh, Scotland - July 2021

A holiday in the area of the Kyle of Lochalsh, alongside a Loch Duich - a sea loch; was a welcome break due to you know what, and it was also a delayed holiday from 2020.

Our accommodation was an old hunting lodge, rebuilt in 1912, at the end of a single track road, alongside a sea loch. We had big hills in front and behind us, and at the end of the loch, the mountains called the Five Sisters of Kintail, and across the loch the famous Eilen Donan castle. This was a family holiday, hence the big house.

The weather was very sunny and warm on the journey to Scotland, and we stopped off overnight at a small place called Balmaha, alongside Loch Lomond.

Then it was a long leisurely drive through the West Highlands of Scotland, alongside lochs, through glens, over passes, on really good roads, with great views.

These are just a small selection of photos taken during the holiday.
